Sophia discovered Yoga in 2010 when she started practising Bikram/Hot Yoga in Dublin while working full time for the Department of Health.
After years of practice and researching the market Sophia & her sister Nadia founded Hot Yoga Dundrum in 2012. Sophia was working full time and running the studio simultaneously for 5 years and as she felt unhappy and unfulfilled in her day job, she resigned in 2017 to concentrate fully on the business.
Sophia initially trained as a yoga teacher in the UK in 2012 and then after leaving her job, she travelled to Koh Phangan, Thailand in 2017 to deepen her knowledge of yoga and mindfulness and expand her practice. She also travelled to India in April 2019 and practised with teachers from Rishikesh and is currently training in Ashtanga yoga.
The style of yoga that Sophia is passionate about teaching is a dynamic Ashtanga Vinyasa Flow class with an emphasis on Meditation in Movement and encouraging students to journey inwards to increase focus and concentration. Sophia’s aim is to spread inspiration for joyful living and to share the joy that yoga brings.
