Sharon Quigley

Sharon’s meditation and Yoga Nidra journey began at just 6 years of age in her homeland Australia when her primary school teacher conducted Yoga Nidra with her young class as part of their afternoon “sleep time”. Sharon’s childhood experience of Yoga Nidra and meditation at such a very young age, planted a seed which would continue to grow profoundly over the next 30 years.

Sharon has a diverse and interesting professional career background in her homeland Australia, including a successful Information Technology career spanning 12 years, including roles such as Software Developer, Analyst/Designer, IT Helpdesk Support, Business Analyst, Object Oriented Analyst, User Interface Designer, Senior Software Engineer, Technical Writer, Website Developer and Graphic Designer.

A life-threatening illness in 2002 forced a change of career to slow down her busy lifestyle, and several successful years working as a College Lecturer which included studying for a Bachelor of Arts (Training & Development) at Edith Cowan University.  During this time Sharon taught computer studies, multimedia & website development at two campuses of the college.

Further formal study in Architectural Design & Drafting, initially as a hobby led to teaching building studies one night a week while also developing a successful full time career in the building industry.  After two years working for one of Perth’s biggest building companies, Impressions the Home Builder, Sharon became a sought-after freelance Building Eco-Designer with a specialisation in natural building, designing beautiful homes made from rammed earth, straw bale, mud-brick and more for projects in Australia and New Zealand for over 12 years.

Immigrating to Ireland at the end of 2012 with her Irish husband, Sharon continued her archictetural work for the first two years for clients in Western Australia.  Sharon found timezones very restricting when she often needed to consult with council building department officials.   So, at the same time Sharon pursued a career as a Positive Mind Coach, completing further formal study including a Kinesiology Certificate and two Diplomas in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnosis, Neuro Linguistic Programming and Clinical Hypnotherapy, along with completing Certificate and Diploma studies in Sound Healing including the Peter Hess method.

A major car accident at the end of 2015 forced Sharon to make another career change and return to her love of teaching, and so began teaching meditation, mandala art & meditation, along with inspiring women’s circles as well as conducting sound healing meditation groups at yoga studios in Cork City and surrounding country areas.

Founding Sacred Earth Sound Healing in 2016, conducting sound baths and clinical treatments in Cork City and County Cork.  When Sharon began teaching sound therapy to practitioners in order to service the demand in Muster region, this transformed into Sacred Earth Institute of Sound & Vibrational Healing Sciences based in Cork City.   An opportunity to work with a veterinary team on sound healing for elite racehorses was the catalyst for further research and a focus on science and innovation, and Pythagoras Institute of Sound & Vibrational Healing evolved.

The diversity in Sharon’s professional career experience, knowledge and skills proves that Sharon really can acheive anything she sets her mind to, something which she embodies in her daily life and her teachings – to inspire and encourage those around her to reach their full potential with the positivity and confidence to achieve anything they set their mind to, and therefore live a happy and rewarding life.

Something Sharon says, would not have been possible for her without her music and meditation.
