So what is self-compassion?
Instead of judging and criticising yourself, self-compassion means you are kind and understanding when confronted with personal failings. You begin to show yourself the same kindness and compassion you might give to a good friend in need.
Why explore this?
As human beings, we know that things will not always go the way we want them to. As part of living we encounter frustration, loss, we make mistakes and we experience disappointment. This is the human condition and the more we open our hearts to this reality instead of fighting against it, the more we will naturally feel compassion for ourselves and others.
What is the ritual?
